한 부모 가정에 두 남자 아이
by the time you were 21 years old
엄마가 21 살 쯤 되었을 때는
everybody told us we weren't supposed to be here.
모두가 우리에게 말했죠 , 우리는 여기 있으면 안된다고.
we moved from apartment to apartment
우리는 이 아파트에서 저아파트 계속 이사를 했습니다.
One of the best memories I had is
저의 가장 소중한 추억 중 하나는
when we moved into our first apartment
우리의 첫 아파트로 이사 갔었을 때에요.
no bed , no furniture,
침대없고 , 가구도없었고
and we just all setting in the living room
우리 모두 거실을 꾸미며,
and just hugged each other.
서로를 껴안았죠.
Cause that's what we thought we made it.
왜냐면 우리는 그때 해냈다고 생각했으니까요.
I don't know about you guys,

and when something good happens to you
좋은 일이 생길 때면
but i tend to look back to what brought me here
저는 무엇이 저를 여기까지 오게 해주었는지를 돌아봅니다.
You wake me up in the middle of the night
엄마는 한 밤중에 나를 깨우셔서
making me run up the hill
언덕을 뛰어 오르게 했고,
making me do push-ups
푸쉬업을 시켰습니다.
screaming at me from the sideline of my games
농구할 때면 코트 옆에서 저를 응원해주셨습니다.

엄마는 우리가 믿을 수 있게 해주셨고 ,
you kept us off the street
길에서 자지 않게 해주셨고 ,
put food on the table
끼니를 굶지 않도록 음식을 제공 해주셨습니다.
