Ji So-yeon is a famous Korean female soccer player. After playing steadily on the English stage for eight years, she returned to the domestic stage by signing a contract with Suwon FC Women's in late May 2022. She helped (her team) win the Women's FA Community Shield at Chelsea FC Women's in 2020 and returned to Korea this year.
On September 18, 2022, I went to see Suwon FC VS Boeun Sangmu match held at Suwon Stadium in Gyeonggi Province. Because it was Ji So-yeon's first game in the domestic league. As many as 1,091 spectators gathered at the stadium, which recorded the largest number of spectators for Suwon FC women this season.
On this day, Ji So-yeon scored multiple goals in her WK League debut, leading the team to victory. In addition, when the second goal was scored, Ji imitated the dance ceremony of Lee Seung-woo, audience had fun watching the ceremony .
While watching the game, I realized why Ji So-yeon's nickname was 'Ji-messi'. Ji So-yeon's soccer style was technically excellent, easily breaking through the opponent's goal, and her goal determination was incredible.
After the game, the players' way home from work was crowded with fans, and Ji So-yeon's fan service was great! XD
Ji So-yeon scored with a left-footed shot in the 26th minute of the first half in her debut match on the 18th. Ji So-yeon's second goal in the 45th minute of the second half made a right half shot from the front of the penalty area.
On September 26, the team tied with Sejong Sports Toto at Sejong Central Park Football Stadium. In the 14th minute of the first half, Ji So-yeon shot the ball directly from the right side, but unfortunately, it was bounced off the post. Ji So-yeon's penetration pass almost led to Choo Hyo-joo's goal in the 18th minute of the first half, but failed to finish with a goal due to opponent's pressure.
In addition, in the 32nd minute of the first half, Maeva received a pass from Jeon Eun-ha and drew 1-1 with a powerful left-footed shot, and finished the game without an additional goal (by Ji) in the second half.
