Life is full of lessons. Some we like, while some we don’t. But in the end, it’s important to absorb these lessons in our cognitive perceptions. I'm not glad to share this very harsh lesson I learned not so quite long ago through sheer experience. But again, may this be the only way of protecting people from going through what we have endured? Maybe this is the way to protect everyone from being trapped by Kalyan Pathuri, aka the CEO of Futuris Company. To this very day, his name makes me sick to my stomachs as it is the very name that destroyed my life beyond imagination.
We all have access to social media, right? Notice how there are a series of people continuously commenting under celebrity posts and memes? 'Thank You, Mr X, for saving me financially!', 'I am fortunate that I got a chance to invest in Company X'. Yes, we are talking about sickening scammers waiting for anyone to reply so they can start their wretched business. I came into the acquaintance of Kalyan Pathuri in the same way. But he was so convincing and confident that I never even thought about it then. Looking back at it, I can't help but realise what a glorified fool I was.
He approached me through his Facebook handle with a big congratulatory message. A message stating that I had just won an exclusive pass to his mentorship program for free! That convinced me about the legitimacy of the whole hoax that was his attitude. He played it slowly and took us under the mentorship program for almost two weeks without the mere mention of money. During those weeks, he made sure to show off his wealth and networth through his luxurious foreign trips and assets, making sure to catch everyone’s attention. To naive me, it seemed pretty legit and I was glad to be working with him.
Somewhere between the program, he started to introduce his company, Futuris Company. According to Kalyan, the company was about investing in the right opportunities. He assured us that the company is packed with financial experts and that all the risks are calculated. None of us in the mentorship program would have believed him if it wasn't for the trade registration certificate. The company was registered and listed on OTC markets with the ticker symbol FTRS. We checked it; it was all real, and the company was indeed regulated in all legal domains.
This was a life-changing opportunity for all of us who had just won a place in the mentorship program under such an esteemed president, or so we thought. Come to think of it, that was Kalyan Pathuri’s only talent: He was able to put a veil between our logical reasoning for investments and us. His social media lifestyle depicted that this man was balling with all sorts of assets in hand. And according to his claims, all of this became possible due to the hefty investment payouts of Futuris Company, where entrepreneurs are made.
If I recall correctly, this series of the mentorship program had some 12-15 individuals, and we were told that it had seen a lot more successful entrepreneurs before us. I know now that all of us were scammed the same way but at that time even 12 seemed like a scale too big for anyone to dare scam. but Pathuri knew better and gradually had all the 'chosen' ones involved in investments.
And so it happened; Kalyan Pathuri got what he wanted from us and vanished. For a few weeks at the start, we just thought that he was busy as all the messages and calls were redirected to the voicemail that he would contact us soon. Soon weeks began to stack up along with our worries as there was no response from the man. but when we referred to official channels at Futuris Company, the President was active and in office, apparently unaware that any of us existed- much less aware of us. That's when we realised what a rotten, sick scammer Kalyan Pathuri is and how he manipulates people like us to facilitate his lavish lifestyles. This man is sick to the core in every sense!
