💪 영어회화 | 표현정리 - 비례식 묘사/표현 (Part 1 of 2) | "많을수록 좋다", "작을수록 가지고 다니기 편하다"

1. 가장 기본단계의 표현

• 많을수록 좋아: the more, the better
• (시간/시점이) 이를수록 좋아: the earlier(sooner), the better
the earlier: 구체적인 시각, 시기 모두 사용 가능
  the sonner: 구체적인 시각에 대해서는 X. 시기에 대한 것만 사용 가능
• 가까울수록 좋아: the closer, the better
• 작을수록 좋아: the smaller, the better

※ as soon as possible: 최대한 빨리. ~할수록 ~하다 라는 비례식묘사 표현과는 의미가 다르다.

2. 확장(1)

• 작을수록 가격이 더 싸(저렴해): The smaller it is the cheaper it is.
  작을수록 가격이 더 싸져(저렴해져): The smaller it is, the cheaper it gets.
The smaller the cheaper 는 쓰지 않는다.

• 기능이 많을수록 좋아: The more functions it has, the bettter it is.
The more functions there are, the more convenient it is.

• 작을수록 비싸: The smaller it is, the more expensive it is.

3. 확장(2)

• 작을수록 들고 다니기가 더 편해진다: The smaller it is, the more convenient it is to carry (around).
• 작을수록 들고 다니기가 더 쉽다: The smaller it is, the easier it is to carry (around).

작을 수록 들고 다니기는 쉬워.

The smaller it is, the easier it is to carry.

근데 그렇다고 해서 꼭 작을수록 좋은것만은 아니야.

But that doesn't necessarily mean the smaller, the better.

• 그렇다고 해서 ~ 건 아니야: that doesn't mean ~
• 꼭 ~만: necessarily

왜냐면 작을수록 안에 넣고 다닐 수 있는게 적어지니까.

Because the smaller it is, the less (stuff) you can carry in it.
