Transliteration:

🚗 2. The Main Dua for Travel (When Boarding Vehicle)

This is the most authentic and comprehensive travel dua. The Prophet ﷺ would recite it when mounting his camel (or any vehicle) for a journey.

Transliteration:

Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar. Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin. Wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tardha. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha watwi 'anna bu'dahu. Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safari, wal-khalifatu fil-ahli. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safari, wa ka'abatil-manzari, wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahli.

Translation:

"Allah is the Greatest (3 times). Glory be to Him who has made this transport available to us, though we could not have managed it on our own. Surely, to our Lord we are returning. O Allah, we ask You for righteousness and piety in this journey, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and shorten its distance. O Allah, You are our Companion during travel and the Guardian over our family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of travel, from distressing sights, and from an ill-fated return to wealth and family."
