This article is part of a series documenting a platform I'm creating with my friends as our final project for the Master's program "Cultures et Métier du Web."
Since we live in one of the world's most visited major cities, we wanted to develop a website called LocalSteps, designed to connect locals with tourists. We’ll be working on this product from start to finish throughout the 2024/2025 academic year.
As a full-stack developer, I'll share updates on the project's progress, challenges encountered, and how I resolve them. For this project, I'm using Express.js and MongoDB for the backend, and React for the frontend. Regarding CSS, we've created our own custom design system rather than using an existing CSS framework.
