While COVID-19 has kept many people indoors as the winter season approaches, many skiers are eager to hit the slopes. In fact, outdoor activities are preferred right now due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Alaska Airlines listens to snow lovers and offers free ski tickets to passengers.
With its “Fly Alaska, Ski Free” promotion, Alaska Airlines passengers simply need to present their boarding passes at any of the eight ski resorts. In return, they will receive a free ski day or discounted ski offers. These are for the 2020–21 ski season only. Eight resorts in the US and Canada have partnered with Alaska Airlines to offer these deals. There are specific terms for the free ski ticket program. For example, some resorts offer free skiing on the day of arrival, others on the day of departure.
Free ski on the day of arrival of the passenger
Alyeska Resort — Gateway Airport: Anchorage (ANC)
Bogus Basin — Gateway Airport: Boise (BOI)
Eaglecrest Ski Area — Gateway Airport: Juneau (JNU)
Schweitzer Mountain Resort — Gateway Airport: Spokane (GEG)
Ski free on the passenger’s departure day
Red Lodge Mountain — Gateway Airport: Billings (BIL)
Whitefish Mountain Resort — Gateway Airport: Kalispell / Glacier Park, Montana (FCA)
Other free ski offers Red Mountain Resort (Gateway Airport: Spokane (GEG)) has limited dates for the “Fly Alaska, Ski Free” promotion. Adults can ski for free with an Alaska Airlines boarding between December 12, 2020, and April 5, 2021.
Ski Marmot Basin (Gateway Airport: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada (YEG)) has two options for skiers flying with Alaska Airlines. The former offers a three-day consecutive lift ticket for the price of a two-day ticket or a free one-day lift ticket. The boarding pass must be dated within 21 days of the purchase of the elevator ticket.
