[UTM] Windows 11 VM on UTM black screen after software update

Macbook M2 환경에서 윈도우즈 환경을 사용하기 위해서 UTM을 사용하고 있다.

자동 업데이트를 켜 놓은 기억은 없는데 자동으로 업데이트가 진행되었다.
업데이트 이후 실행한 UTM Windows에서 화면이 보이지 않고 까만 화면 보였고
재시작을 윈도우 부팅음은 들리지만 여전히 화면이 까맣게 보이지 않는 상황이었다.

설정해두었던 Auth key 등이 있어서 다시 설치하는 게 매우 번거로운 상황이었고 다시 살리는 게 꼭 필요한 상황이었다.

한시간 가량 검색해서 raddit 에 올라온 해결법을 찾아냈다.

1. Force kill VM during loading. Hold LMB on the power icon and click 'Force kill'. Also, you need to hold the 'Shift' button during the boot. Try this multiple times until you enter into the automatic repair. It will fail to automatically repair Windows. Open the 'Advanced options' (or smth like that)

2. Click on the 'Troubleshoot' -> Advanced options -> Uninstall updates.

3. Uninstall both Feature and Quality updates. I've started from the Quality. This will restart your VM later on. It might stuck again, so you'll have to close it and manually launch it multiple times.

VM 로딩 시 power 아이콘을 꾹 클릭해서 force kill을 해주면된다. auto repair 가 진행될 때 까지 재시동을 계속한다.

auto repair를 진행하면 Advanced options가 보이는데
Troubleshoot' -> Advanced options -> Uninstall updates
Feature updates 와 Quality updates를 모두 uninstall 해주면 자동으로 재시동 된다.

재시동 후 확인하면 화면이 다시 보이고 해결되었다.

같은 문제를 마주친 MAC 유저들에게 도움이 되면 좋겠다.
