S3 Storage Classes

1. Standard - General purpose

범용적 사용

• sustain 2 concurrent facility failures
• Big Data analytics, mobile, gaming application, content distribution ...

2. Standard-Infrequent Access (IA)

자주 액세스하지 않지만 빠르게 액세스 해야할 데이터인 경우에 적합

• Low Cost compared to S3 Standard ( 객체에 액세스하지 않을 수록 비용이 적게 들기 때문 )
• sustain 2 concurrent facility failures
• data store for disaster recovery, backups ...

3. One Zone-Infrequent Access

타 스토리지 클래스는 다중 AZ인 반면, 단일 AZ 영역에만 저장된다.

• data lost when AZ is destroyed
• Low latency & hight throughput performance
• support SSL for data at encryption
• Standard IA 대비 20% 가격이 저렴
• Storing secondary backup copies of on-premise data, storing data you can recreate

4. Intelligent Tiering

S3 Standard와 동일하게 low latency & high throughput performance

• Small monthly monitoring and auto-tiering fee
• 액세스 패턴에 기반하여 액세스 티어들 사이에서 객체들을 자동으로 이동시켜 준다.

5. Glacier

Cold Archive의 일종

• Low cost object storage
• archiving / backup
• data is retained for the long term ( 10s years )
• Glacier 내의 모든 항목은 객체가 아니라 아카이브라고 불리며, 각 아카이브는 40TB까지 가능
• 아카이브는 버킷이 아닌 "Vaults"에 저장된다.
• 저장하는 최소 기간은 90일

파일 회수

• Expedited - 파일 요청 시 1 ~ 5분 가량 소요
• Standard - 파일 요청 시 3 ~ 5시간 소요
• Bulk - 파일 요청 시 5 ~ 12시간 소요

파일의 회수가 급하지 않은 경우에 사용

6. Glacier Deep Archive

• 저장하는 최소 기간은 180일

파일 회수

• Standard - 파일 요청 시 12시간 소요
• Bulk - 파일 요청 시 48시간 소요

파일을 급하게 회수할 필요가 없는 경우에 사용
