HTML width와 CSS width는 다를까?

위와 같이 태그의 속성으로 width와 height를 지정할 수 있는 태그들이 존재하는데, 이러한 속성들을 presentational attributes 라고 부른다고 한다.

그런데 이 presentational attributes는 'are overriden by any other styling information whatsoever', 즉, 다른 모든 스타일링에 묻힌다(cascading)는 것이다. 그러니까 가장 약한 스타일링이다. 그래서 fallback으로 적합하다고 한다.

(보여지기에는, 마치 inline style처럼 high specificity로 보여지는데 아니다!)

svg나 이미지가 width/height가 전혀 없는 경우 이상하게 크게 보여지는 것들을 방지하기 위한 속성으로 적합하다.
