AWS Regions

• A region is a cluster of data centers

AWS Regions 선택에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인

• Compliance (법률 준수) - 국가 내에 보관해야 할 중요 정보가 있는 경우
• latency (지연 시간)
• Available services (리전에 존재하는 서비스를 사용하는 경우 해당 리전을 사용해야함)
• Pricing

AWS Availability Zones

• Each region has many availability zones
• 각각의 AZ는 여분의 전원 네트워킹, 통신 기능을 갖춘 하나 또는 두 개의 개별적인 데이터 센터로 구성
• 높은 대역폭의 초저지연 네트워킹으로 서로 연결되어 region을 형성
• usually 3, min is 2, max is 6
  • ap-southeast-2a, ap-southeast-2b, ap-southeast-2c

AWS Points of Presence (Edge Locations)

• Amazon has 216 Points of Presence in 84 cities across 42 countries
  • 205 Edge Locations & 11 Regional Caches
• 위와 같이 200개가 넘는 전송 지점이 존재 하므로 적은 지연 시간으로 전송이 가능하다
