How to Fix DNS Server not responding on Windows?

DNS or Domain Name System automatically translates hostnames to IP addresses; it is a hierarchical decentralized naming system for computers, services, and other resources connected to the Internet or a private network. Surfing a web world not be easy for us if the DNS did not exist. It is pretty easier for us to remember www.abcd.com than the IP address that comes as 215.57.216.55. A DNS server is actually playing the role of a translator between an IP address and the hostname. But yes, the DNS request does not happen every time we connect to a particular domain name that was previously visited. The computer remembers an IP address when we first time visit a website. Rectifying an incorrect DNS server address is the first thing we suggest if DNS Server not responding on Windows.

Correct your DNS server address

• Launch the Run box by pressing the Windows logo key and R at the same time
• Type control and press Enter
• Now you will have to click Network and Sharing Center that appears in large icons
• Click on Change adapter settings then
• Make right-click on Local Area Connection, Ethernet or Wi-Fi according to as per your Windows
• Then you need to click Properties
• Click on Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) followed by Properties
• Select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically
• Now you need to select Internet Protocol Version 6(TCP/IPv6), then Properties
• Again, click on Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS server address automatically
• Hit the Ok button then and restart your computer
Reset your IP
Clearing out your DNS cache and restarting your IP could be another reliable way to try if DNS Server not responding on Windows. Go to the Start menu and type cmd in its search box. Then select Run as administrator by making right-click on Command Prompt. You will be prompted by the User Account Control to click on Yes. Go to the open black window and type ipconfig/flushdnd, ipconfigue/registerdns, ipconfigue/release, and ipconfigue/renew. Press Enter after typing each command. Then you need to restart your computer once.

Correct your DNS server address

Update your network adapter driver manually or automatically if you have an old or incorrect network adapter driver. For auto-update, you will have to download and install the Driver Easy program. This program will recognize your system automatically and choose the correct drivers for it. If you are doing it with the use of Driver Easy, you are not supposed to know exactly what system your computer is running. So, it will be an error-free update. However, the Pro version of Driver Easy is not required to make the auto-update.
