Suwon FC Women won the first trophy in the women's soccer general division in the club's history in the 103rd National Sports Festival held in Ulsan in 2022. Suwon FC won a 3-0 victory over Seoul City Hall in the women's soccer finals on October 12 at Mipo Dockyard in Ulsan's Bangjin Sports Park.
The home team Seoul City Hall started the game with a 4-4-2 formation and Suwon FC with a 4-5-1 formation. As it was the final, the two teams played the game aggresively in the first half and finished scoreless.
In the 12th minute of the second half, Lee Young-seo, one of SuwonFC women player, finished the ball that rose in the air inside the penalty box with a header and scored the first goal.
In the 19th minute of the second half, Suwon FC was able to score one more goal. Jeon Eun-ha finished the forward pass from the left side with her right foot to make the game score 2-0.
In addition, in the 45th minute of the second half, Ho Chae-yoon scored a goal by kicking the ball that was hit by the Seoul City Hall goalkeeper's body and ended the game 3-0. Suwon FC scored a total of 11 points in three games in the 103rd National Sports Festival, which has led the club's first national sports gold medal.
To shortly recap about the previous games that SuwonFC women had, Suwon FC won a victory against Incheon Hyundai Steel 3-1 in the quarterfinals on the 9th, and finished the sports competition 5-3 against Hwacheon KSPO in the semifinals on the 10th, and 3-0 in the final.
Ji So-yeon, who played for Chelsea Women in Europe, scored multiple goals in the quarterfinals and semifinals in this tournament, and played a key role in winning by giving her teammates a lot of goal chances while consistently being marked by opponents.
After the final match, Ji So-yeon said in an interview, "There were many injured players in the team and every game we had was hard, but the players focused and showed effort until the end, so we was able to achieve the result of winning. I'll show you good performance in the rest of the league."
