Suwon Samsung and Suwon FC played their last Suwon Derby match of the year at Suwon World Cup Stadium on October 16.
By looking at the data on official K-league website, Suwon Samsung is ranked 10th and Suwon FC is ranked 7th. Both teams are on the verge of relegation from the Final B (K League 1 lower group), but Suwon FC is currently having a more satisfying season than Suwon Samsung. Suwon FC lost the match against Daegu on October 9th, but won 2-1 against Seongnam on 12th of October, to confirm its stay in the K League 1.
On the other hand, Suwon Samsung's situation is serious. Suwon Samsung is currently ranked 10th. In order to avoid relegation, Suwon Samsung must compete with Seoul, which is currently ranked ninth, and win all the remaining games (including Suwon Derby).
