In my last post, I introduced a Berlin startup and its PPS system. Today, I want to take deeper look into why PPS - specifically, what problems it aims to solve. Here's a section from the last post.

⚙️ MARKET PROBLEM

Traditional supply chain systems have several limitations:

  • Outdated analytical methods
  • A focus on local rather than global optimization
  • A transaction-oriented design instead of processes-oriented workflows
  • Lack of explainability, leading to low trust and transparency

TVINN addresses these issues through data, simulation, and an intuitive interface.

Let's focus on this part. Although the digital transformation of the production industry is progressing rapidly, many Production Planning System remain complex and uncomfortable for users. As a result, many planners are stil relying on Excel for their work.

Because of their complexity, unintuitive UI and lack of flexiblility, a fundamental issue arises: systems should be built for people — not the other way around.

TVINN takes a different stance: tools should serve people. From the beginning, they built their system with and for planners, not around them. By conducting over 250 interviews and testing prototypes with real users, they shaped a platform that feels intuitive, visual, and grounded in actual workflows.

This human-centered approach doesn't just improve usability — it redefines what planning tools can be. When systems are designed to reflect how people truly work, complexity turns into clarity, and planning becomes not a chore, but a craft.
