Easy Restore 기능은 시스템 보드 교체 과정을 전체적으로 자동화함

시스템 보드를 교체한 후 부팅 화면에서 사용자는 저장된 구성, 서비스 태그, 라이선스 설정, 진단 프로그램을 복원할지 선택할 수 있음

Easy Restore Storage는 서버 전면 패널의 일부이며, 최대 4MB의 데이터를 저장 모든 데이터는 백업 플래시 장치에 자동으로 백업됨

BIOS가 새로운 시스템 보드를 감지하고 백업 플래시 장치의 서비스 태그가 일치하면, BIOS는 사용자에게 백업 정보를 복원할 것인지 확인 메시지를 표시함

Tip: Easy Restore는 PowerEdge 14세대 서버부터 기본적으로 자동 활성화되어 있으며, 사용자의 별도 조작이 필요하지 않음

그러나 17세대(17G) 시스템 보드 교체에는 Easy Restore가 사용되지 않습니다.
17G 서버는 관련 데이터를 DC‑SCM에 저장하며,
Easy Restore를 트리거하는 유일한 부품 교체는 DC‑SCM 교체뿐입니다.

Easy Restore Process

백업 이미지 파일에는 운영체제나 하드 드라이브 데이터가 포함되지 않으며,
용량 제한으로 인해 Easy Restore는 펌웨어 드라이버를 백업하지 않습니다.
Easy Restore가 백업하는 항목 :

• The System Service Tag
• Licenses
• The UEFI configuration
• System configuration settings including BIOS, iDRAC, and Network settings
• And the OEM ID or personality module

The process

1. The process begins with powering on the server.

2. The BIOS performs a self-test and detects the system and its service tag.

3. The system prompts the user to confirm the restoration of the service tag, license, and diagnostics information.

4. Alternatively, Lifecycle Controller offers the option to restore the system configuration data. If a previously created Hardware Server Profile exists, the system allows the user to restore data from that profile.

5. The system reiterates the prompt regarding the restoration of system configuration data. Press "Y" to restore the configuration data.

6. Alternatively, if the user prefers to employ the default configuration settings, press "N."

7. The server automatically reboots upon the successful completion of the restore process.
