  • Descriptive Statistics: The methods of organizing, summarizing and presenting data in an informative way, describing data graphically and numerically.
  • Inferential statistics: The methods used to estimate a property of a population on the basis of a sample.

• Nominal = Classification
  • male/female, yes/no
• Ordinal = Classification + Rank
  • How often do you go to the movies > none, occasionally, frequently
• Interval = Classification + Rank + Meaningful difference between values
  • Temperature(artificial numbers)
• Ratio = Classfication + Rank + Meaningful difference between values + Meaningful ratio
  • Age, distance
