기존에 VSCode로 개발을 하다가, JetBrains사의 새로운 RustRover를 사용해보고 싶어 설치했습니다.
설치 후 Rust 프로젝트를 열어보니 아래와 같은 메시지가 표시되었습니다. 😥

“구성된 Rust 툴체인이 없습니다.”

🧩 문제의 원인

저는 Rust를 Homebrew로 설치했기 때문에 RustRover에서 이를 자동으로 인식하지 못한 것으로 보입니다.
터미널에서 Rust가 정상적으로 설치되어 있는지 확인해본 결과, 아래와 같이 확인되었습니다.

 MacSter  ~  brew info rust
==> rust: stable 1.84.0 (bottled), HEAD

Rust가 최신 버전(1.84.0) 으로 설치되어 있음을 확인할 수 있습니다!
그런데도 RustRover는 툴체인을 감지하지 못하는 상황입니다. 🤔

⚠️ RustRover에서 Rust 툴체인을 설치하지 않는 이유

RustRover 내에서 Rust 툴체인을 설치하는 옵션이 제공되긴 하지만,
이미 Homebrew로 설치한 상태에서 다시 설치하면 중복 설치가 되어 비효율적입니다. 😅
따라서, 기존에 설치한 Homebrew의 Rust를 RustRover에서 인식하도록 설정하는 것이 필요합니다.

🔧 해결 방법

RustRover에서 “구성된 Rust 툴체인이 없습니다” 메시지가 발생한 이유는 RustRover가 Homebrew로 설치한 Rust의 경로를 감지하지 못했기 때문입니다.

먼저 터미널에서 brew info rust 명령어를 사용해 Rust가 설치된 위치를 확인했습니다.

 MacSter  ~  brew info rust
==> rust: stable 1.84.0 (bottled), HEAD

Rust가 /opt/homebrew/Cellar/rust/1.84.0에 설치된 것을 확인할 수 있었습니다.
RustRover에서 툴체인의 위치를 아래와 같이 명시하였습니다.

/opt/homebrew/Cellar/rust/1.84.0/bin

RustRover에서 위 경로를 입력한 후, 툴체인을 성공적으로 인식할 수 있었습니다! 🎉
아래와 같이 설정 화면에서 Rust 툴체인 경로가 정상적으로 인식된 것을 확인할 수 있습니다.

이제 RustRover에서 정상적으로 Rust 개발을 진행할 수 있게 되었습니다! 🚀
