며칠 전 인생 첫 OPIc 시험을 봤다. 사실 평소에 영어로 말할 일도 거의 없고 영어 스피킹 시험은 처음이라 어떻게 준비할 지 고민이었다. 나는 기존에 있었던 TOEIC, TEPS 성적이 만료된 관계로 새로운 어학 성적이 필요하기도 했고 삼성에 지원하려면 OPIc 성적이 있어야 해서 시험을 보게 되었다. OPIc은 좀 비싸긴 해도 (84,000원...😢) 시험도 자주 있고 성적도 금방 나와서 좋은 것 같다. 따로 강의나 모의고사를 결제해서 공부하진 않았다. 대신 ChatGPT로 OPIc 예상 질문을 뽑고 대답하고 피드백을 받는 과정을 반복하며 말하기 연습을 했고 유튜브에 올라와 있는 영상들이나 모의고사를 몇 개 봤다.
아무튼 그래서 이번 글에서는 ChatGPT로 말하기 연습을 한 과정에 대해 소개해보고자 한다.

🔎 prompt 구조

크게 4가지 파트로 나눌 수 있다.

오픽 문제 유형 정보 제공하기

일단 나도 OPIc 시험을 처음 보기 때문에 유형이나 최신 트렌드를 알지 못하는터라 인터넷 검색을 통해 찾은 오픽 문제 유형 정보와 난이도 5, 6 문제 유형 정보를 제공해주었다.

오픽 모의고사 예시 제공하기

마찬가지로 인터넷에서 찾은 Background Servey와 모의고사 예시를 제공해주었다. 여러 개 넣어주면 좋은데 나는 귀찮아서 하나만 넣었다. 😅
유튜브를 참고해서 최신 기출을 오픽 모의고사 예시로 더 넣어도 좋을 것 같다.

역할 부여 및 해야 할 일 알려주기

이제 ChatGPT에게 역할을 부여하고 해야 할 일을 알려준다. 다음과 같은 prompt를 사용했다.

너는 이제부터 OPIc 시험 대비를 도와줄 조력자야. 영어로 대화를 진행할거고 앞서 알려준 OPIc에 대한 정보를 바탕으로 내가 준비하고 연습해볼 질문들을 번호 순서대로 만들어줘. 그리고 내가 너가 만들어준 질문에 답하면 해당 답변에 대한 피드백도 제시해줘.

내 background survey 정보 제공하기

마지막으로 ChatGPT가 나에게 맞는 질문을 만들 수 있도록 내 background survey 정보를 제공한다.
많은 유튜브 영상들에서는 어떤 걸 골라야 한다고 알려주긴 하는데 나는 그냥 대답할 때 실제 내 경험을 기반으로 진실성 있게 하는 것이 더 좋은 것 같아서 솔직하게 작성했다.

OPIc 시험을 대비하려고 해. OPIc은 다음과 같이 크게 6가지 오픽 문제 유형으로 이루어져 있어.

어떤 대상에 대한 설명, 세부적인 묘사를 요구하는 질문 유형

주로 이러한 구체적인 대상에 대한 답변을 요구합니다.

2. 루틴(Routine)
어떤 상황이나 장소에서 하는 행동 순서, 방법에 대한 질문 유형

 - What do they usually do?
 - Describe each step you take to prepare for your trip in detail.
 - Please describe your routine in detail.
주로 이러한 장소나 상황, 행동에 대한 답변을 요구합니다.

3. 비교(Comparison)
두 대상에 대한 정보와 비교를 요구하는 질문 유형
 - How have bars changed over the last several years?
 - How has your taste in movies changed over the years?
 - How are the movies you enjoy now different from those in the past?
 - What is the biggest change?
 - Please compare the fashion trends in the past and now.
주로 이러한 시간 경과에 대한 비교, 두 대상에 대한 비교를 요구합니다.

4. 과거 경험(Past Experience)
기억에 남는 과거 경험 또는 문제 해결 경험을 묻는 질문 유형
 - Can you tell me how you first become interested in going to a theater?
 - Tell me about the most memorable travel experience you had
 - Tell me about a trip you took in your childhood.
 - When was the last time you went shopping?
 - Tell me about your recent shopping experience.
첫 계기, 기억에 남는 경험, 어릴 적 경험 등 과거에 대한 이야기를 요구하는 질문을 합니다.

5. 롤플레이(Role-play)
정보 요청, 문제 해결을 위한 대안 제시, 관련한 과거 경험을 세트로 묻는 유형

🚀 사용하기

참고로 마이크 기능은 ChatGPT 모바일 앱에만 있기 때문에 해당 앱을 사용해 ChatGPT가 만들어준 질문에 대답을 하는 방식으로 연습했다. 확실히 다른 일반적인 STT보다 정확했다.

시험은 3일 정도 준비했고 난이도 5-5로 시험을 봐서 성적은 IH가 나왔다. 😎
